Have you ever paraded publicly in your underwear?
In a pinch, I've pretended undies were a swimsuit (I'm pretty sure I didn't fool anyone, but I'm also pretty sure no one cared...), and goodness knows I've shown my undies (while wearing them) to all sorts of folks, in the name of "networking." Or "sales." Which sounds a lot more scandalous than it actually is (like much of my work :)). But it also depends on the audience, of course. I'm not just dropping trou willy nilly.
But enough about me. Today on the blog we salute some clients who this fall ran a 60+ mile relay in their undies. La Vie en Orange undies, to be precise.
Meet the 2015 Dances With Dirt team, Dirt's Derby Darlings.
Amelia, Dawn, Ed, Gayle and Jill all got their fishnets and Upitees, helmets, and black eyes ready for the most fun of unfun races.

The organizers call Dances with Dirt, "basically, a difficult, wicked on and off trail run with stupid spots. Stupid spots include swamp crossings, river crossings, hills too steep to climb and can only be a butt slide down." The legs of the relay are all named, and called things like, "This Sucks," "Where's the F'n Bridge" and "The Stupid Leg...Lake." So. Party.
Except it kind of is a party. When the team first approached me about making undies for the team to run in, I became privy to their plans for race domination: handing out Dirt's Derby Darling tattoos to all the race participants, bribing judges with undies, and more.

The team had already designed its logo for their other swag, so they were good to go. We made each team member two pairs of undies, so they could have costume changes in between getting muddy and sweaty and running through a lake. Then we made some for bribes too. The tangled webs the Darlings wove!
In the end, with all sorts of team spirit, a well placed bribe, and a lot of heart, the Darlings won an honorable mention for spirit!
And pretty much never got a wedgie the entire race.

So. If you ever have any plans for rocking your undies on the outside, we should probably talk, whether you're flying solo, or as part of a team. Cupid's Undies Run is coming up... Just sayin' :) Click here to send me an email.
Has this got you thinking about a time you wore your undies on the outside? Or impending plans to do just that? Comment below to tell the world! :)
